Suggest Treatment For Pain In Throat Area After Martial Arts Training

Hello, I have a question in regards to my 10 year old son. He has been staying mixed martial arts and recently was hurt while he was grappling with another student under the supervision of an instructor. My son was grabbed around his neck by his opponent who was attempting what was called a guillotine choke. The opponent places his forearm across my sons throat while his head is facing down and applies pressure by then jerking his head up with all his strength putting extreme pressure on the throat until my son tapped out. They call this a head crank. It caused immense pain and my son felt as though his throat was being crushed. My understanding is that at this age the throat is still developing and this type of extreme maneuver could severely damage his throat including crushing his wind pipe. Would you agree that at his age this is a dangerous technique to be applied. As a concerned father I would like a medical opinion from a trained professional before going back to the school. He has had pain for several days after in his throat area which also concerns me. Thank you Albert
