Suggest Treatment For Pain In Toenail After An Injury

hi about 2 years ago i had an injury on my big toe and the nail came of it has grown back however it is really thick and yellow and can be very painful i went to see my local doctor and he told me it was an injury and that he cudnt treat i would have to pay to see a chropadist can you help?
