Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi there. I am 40 years old and female. I had a tonsillectomy around three months ago.No real problems after the op except more pain than I expected.I have suffered with holes in my tonsils for years, resulting in tonsil stones and general infections from food stuck in the holes, and it subsequently going bad and making me ill.I have had antibiotics for years on and off to rid me of my constant infections. To have my tonsils out seemed to be a dream come true. i expected to stop coughing at last. i thought all my infections would go away. I am so down because none of this has happened. I have had a swollen sore throat for two weeks now. It feels like I have food stuck again in my throat.I feel like something is stuck or I have a lump of something down there. I have bad breath again. I have redness all around the back of my throat. Small pale yellow lumps too. I have a cough and I am coughing up green and brown mucus.I feel sick all the time . Oh and forgot to mention that my food goes the wrong way some times. It goes up and not down resulting in choking. It seems I have more problems than I ever did , since I have had my operation. I wish I had never had it done. I hope someone can tell me that I am not going mad.Do I need to go back to my doctor so I can be put through to ENT ? Any help or advice would be tremendous. Thankyou.
