Suggest Treatment For Pain In Wrist And Swollen Vein Bump Above Wrist

I had shoulder surgery 8 weeks ago. the past 2-3 days I have had a lot of pain in my hand (upper, not palm). , wrist, and have what appears to be swollen vein bump about two inches above my wrist. It's a holday weekend and not sure that it's significant enought to contact my surgeon. I've been trying to rest/ice it.
