Suggest Treatment For Pain On The Side Near Kidneys

I recently had a 5.7 potassium level at a doctors visit. I failed to mention that I've been waking with kidney pain in the morning... which I just attributed to my kidneys working all night and having to pee. I do drink an average of 3 12 oz cans of diet mt dew per day. Any link? I am an otherwise healthy 40 y/o male. 66 inches 174 lbs. I run about 20 to 30 miles per week.
