Suggest Treatment For Painful And Swollen Tongue

8 years ago I had to have a piece of my tongue & portion right earlobe because of two dead spots. It came back negative for cancer. But the last month or so my tongue has been painful, swollen at times and look like I have slits cut into it on the same side that the surgery was performed. My Dr. found a swollen lymph node right over my chest bone that she does not like the feel of. She told me by the shape and feel of it and where it is located she is thinking I need to see an oncologist. Just curious what you think. Am I afraid for nothing? I still plan seeing whoever she send me to, but would like you re opinion.
