Suggest Treatment For Painful Breathing After Persistent Vomitting

I am 38 yr old female with alot of serious health issues ....I use a walker as I have balance problem & I also have gastroparesis & have a peg & J tube to get nutition in me as I have chronic nausea & vomitting. I also have with a gastric pacemaker. So right now I am pretty much skin & bones(literally). And last night after I was finishing vommiting I lost my balance & just fell straight back into the toilet bowl. My left side of my back/ribs hit right on the edge of the toilet bowel. And I fell onto the floor. At first I thought one of my ribs broke & punctured my lungs as I couldnt breath. But after a few minutes I was able to get air in me(whew)....I guess it literally knocked the wind out me! So Ive said all this to ask you...... how I would know if I broke, fractured, or bruised my ribs & do I "need" to go to the doctors. I am in a LOT of pain & it hurts to breathe and of course any time I move it makes it worse....but I can push thru it..... I just didnt know if I should be worried and it was urgent to get checked out and what can they do for it??

Thanks

JM
