Suggest Treatment For Painful White Bumps In Throat

Hi I went to the doctors today and I have white lumps on the back of my throat and it is painful they said it looks like ulcers on the back of my throat but it is something different beggining with a G, I can't remember what they said it was but I need to know so I can inform work. They gave me a throat spray & anti biotics for it. Do you know what the name of it could be ?
