Suggest Treatment For Patella Femoral Syndrome

i was recently diagnosed with Patella Femoral Syndrome and a Lateral Tilt to my patella....I have to do 6 weeks of Physical Therapy and probably going to have to get a Lateral Release. If i have to get that done what kind of recovery is it??? I work on an ambulance so how much time would i have to take off of work???
