Suggest Treatment For Pneumonia In A Child

My granddaughter (11 months)was diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia and after treatment she developed vomiting and diareah(sp). How serious is this and how will this be treated? She is tiny and I am very concerned for her. Any information will be very much appreciated.
