Suggest Treatment For Prolonged And Heavy Menstrual Bleeding And Abdominal Cramping

hello, i am a 40 year old female with irregular cycles for the past 3-4 years. scanning reports were normal. till Nov '10, i didnt bother about my periods as the reports were normal. flow was heavy during Nov n Dec of 2010 and Jan 2011, so went to gyn and got scanning done as per her advice. reports suggested that endometrium was 9mm thick and minimal fluid in POD. so the gyn did a diagnostic D n C and hysteroscopy on feb '11 and after 2-3 days, the spotting stopped. till april '11, i didnt get my periods but got it on April 17th, the flow was heavy. after 7thday, flow became less but didnt stop for 10 days n went to gyn again. she suggested some OC but till now, the flow continues. today, i got lower abdomen cramps, lower back pain and pain in both the knees which i used to get all these years on one of the days of my cycle and suddenly the flow became heavy and slowed down again but cramps r on n off. i dont have kids n no treatment for the same taken during any part of life.
