Suggest Treatment For Rectal Bleeding When Treating Liver Disease

I am a 71 year old female and see a doctor twice a year for liver disease. Recently I have some rectal bleeding which I originally thought was due to hard stools which still may be the cause. In addition, today I experienced a burning sensation when urinating. Not sure if either are related. My next doctors appointment is scheduled for March 16th and wondered if I should contact him or my general practitioner.
