Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Bartholin Cysts

I had what I thought was a cyst but when I saw my physician for my well womans she told me I had a staph infection.. She gave me antibiotics and it went away, however the bartholin cysts I had gotten are extremely painful, large, and reoccurring. Is it that once you get one, it will always be dormant or permanently treatable? Also can you get bartholin cysts from shaving too often and or by having too much sex?
