Suggest Treatment For Reddish, Swollen And Sore Bump On Left Side Of Hip

I am a 50 year old female. I had the flu 2 weeks ago which lasted for 10 days. I took 3 to 4 hot showers a day to help clear my head and stop the chills and achiness. As a result my skin became very dry and my usual chicken skin on my legs got worse. I must have scratched the bumps when sleeping and now I have one bump on my left hip that at first has a little bit of whitish stuff come out of it. I put ichthammol ointment on it but it made it red swollen, warm to the touch and very sore. I am guessing that having the bump near my panty line and seeming to hit it all the time it feels worse. Now what should I do?
