Suggest Treatment For Redness Behind Ear

my son (10)complained earlier today about his ear being on fire, it is red behind it. did the normal, gave him calpol. kept an eye on him, he did eat much lunch and barely ate his dinner and went to bed at 7pm, he has a slight temperture, and has been sick a little. Not really complaining about an ear ache. Suffered frequently when he was younger.
