Suggest Treatment For Ripped Foreskin

I am a 52 year old woman in a relationship with a 51 year old man. I have never been with a man who was not circumsized and find that when we have intercourse he tends to rip his foreskin. please educate me as to what I need to do as a partner to avoid this situation. How common is this and how long does it take for this to heal
