Suggest Treatment For Rough Patch Of Skin On Neck

i have developed a rough patch of skin on my neck.
i have brown skin but this patch on my neck is dark and rough. i noticed it a week ago when i felt a slight sting like something bit me but at that time it dint look like anything serious but then it seemed grow bigger in 2 nights. it is not that big but am quite worried because am not sure whether its a reaction to something or its just a layer of dirt, also there is a little bit of the same thing on the other side of my neck.
what could it be?
