Suggest Treatment For Scab On Ear Lobe With Redness

I found a strange scab on my left earlobe yesterday. I have no idea how I got it, but it was thin and rectangular. I was in the attic the day before - and didn't see any bats... but for some reason, I can't help but wonder if a bat could be in my house - and bit me in my sleep! Now, I'm worried, esp that I have 2 small children! I picked the scab, and the cut is still there - and a little red around it. Should I see my doctor, or is he going to think I am crazy? (I live in CT)
