Suggest Treatment For Scaly Patch On The Scalp

I have a scaly patch (approx 1 square inch) on my scalp that was diagnosed as a keratosis a year ago. Since then, a second patch has emerged near the original patch plus one on the opposite side.- will see dermatologist in two weeks but should I ask for a biopsy??
