Suggest Treatment For Severe Back Pain And Gastritis

Hi, I m a 51 year old woman 5 6 , with no excersice regimen now for a few years. My weight is 159 now, although it s normally 163-165. I take Gabapentin 800mg twice a day. I also take Zyrtec once a day for cat allergy, and occasionally for back pain Ibuprofen and or/Tylenol. A few years ago in 2010 I had a severe back pain, due to disk problems and for several months I took ibuprofen 600mg every 6 hours. I figured the pain would go away as in other occasions. But this time it was not going away but getting worse. I finally developed a severy gastritis and went to my doctor which gave me a Zantac 300mg once a day, but it didn t relieve my nausea and acidity, so he told me to take it twice a day until symptoms subsided, and then once a day. Eventually and after dealing with intense excruciating back pain, he recommended Gabapentin 800mg twice a day, which was a God send. I ve been having issues with lactose intolerance for ever since I was a little girl, but now even if I use Lactaid milk and lactose pills when I eat cheeses, I get a fermented or foul smell coming out of my gut next day, when I burp. I told my doctor who is an internist, about this problem, and he suggested I eliminate all milk products (which I already had) and gave me Prilosec 20mg once a day for 3 months, because I was also complaining of acidity. It went well with the Prilosec for 3 months, considering I stopped all milk products. But after being off the medication for a few months (maybe 4 months) I started to have problems digesting beef (like lean ground beef) and sometimes chicken, and the foul of fermented smell from my gut started to come back again after digestion of certain meals. Also very acid stomach. Went back to the doctor, and told him I have slow digestion sometimes, and high acidity in my stomach. So, he recommended Prilosec 20mg again once a day and Reglan 5mg one hour before each meal, an abdominal sonogram, and blood work. The sonogram showed Mild Hepatomegaly. Also the protein on my blood work shows high and a high white blood cell count, but not very high. Tomorrow I m going to my doctor with the blood work and sonogram results to see what treatment he recommends. He hasn t seen the results. I ve got to keep my stomach with some kind of food, wholesome food, in order to not feel acid stomach. I stopped the Reglan because I was having heart palpitations at night which prevented me from sleeping. What do you recommend? I m feeling better although I ve been very ill the last week with very acid stomach, some occasional diarrhea and nausea. No vomiting. The acid stomach is better, but if I get hungry after a while, I get acid stomach again. It seems my stomach doesn t like being empty or I get acid. It s better in the last couple of days, thank God. My doctor did not give me Zantac which would help me a lot. He forbided me taking it because he had given me Reglan, but because I eliminated the Reglan due tu irregular heart palpitations, (I have a heart murmur), I don t have anything else except Prilosec 20mg once a day. What do you suggest? Thank you, Noemi Elosegui
