Suggest Treatment For Severe Coughing Along With Pain In Rib Cage

I am 60 year old male in good health. I have been coughing for a week due to a bad cold. Yesterday when I sneezed I felt excruciating pain in my left rib cage and I experience the same pain every time I sneeze since then. I've been taking Tylenol extra strength which helps when I am not sneezing. Is there a certain way that I could strap it so it doesn't hurt so much when I sneeze?
