Suggest Treatment For Severe Muscle And Joints Pain

this is for a friend who is presently in the hospital. on sunday she was in a lot of joint and muscle pain on one side of her body she also swelled up on this side even her face and neck .she claims her fluids are out of the normal range as well. she claims she has no infection and they have no idea as to whats wrong with her. could this be related to a tick bite or insect bite?
