Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In My Wrist And Shoulder

hi doctor ,one week ago i had a left heart cath via the radial artery in my wrist. No coronary artery disease was found. Small hematoma, no infection and no apparent phlebitis. I do have severe pain from my wrist to my shoulder and some swelling. My cardiologist said to take some advil and watch and see. I forgot to ask if i should apply heat or cold. I put cold for 24 hours after the procedure and than heat. The heat does not seem to help. What is best to do.Thanks, Ina
