Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In Right Eye And Watery Eyes

i have a very painful right eye and the corner is red and watery my doctor said it was nothing and gave me chloramphenicol eye drops. it is now 9 days and is no better what is your opinion as it is very painfull he gave me acortisone crem for a rsh on the side of my face beside my eye that has faded.what can i do to ease the pain and redness in my eye?
