Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain When On Dilaudid

Blood protein at 17. Been in severe pain and was taking dilaudid for three - four weeks (4mg) every four hours. Had ablation and then within a day had a severe UTI diagnosed and was placed on antibiotic. Source of severe pain has never been determined (despite x-rays and CAT scans). Recently stopped dilaudid and now taking percocet every six hours. Pain has lessened. Hospitalized two weeks ago for the pain and blood work was fine but last week the raised blood protein showed up. Could prolonged drug use, inflammation cause the recent rise in protein and why would it show up after the ablation?
