Suggest Treatment For Severe Throat Pain

i have a pain in the throat area(tonsil area) right side and the pain radiates to the ear. Went to the ENT, he prescribed antibiotis and betadine gargles, nasal drops n an antiallergic and a painkiller too. Went again in 3 days since the pressure on the ear was tremendous. He then gave alaspan tabs, another germicidal gargle and nasal drops. He thinks it's tonsillopharyngitis. Does this hurt so bad just below the chin areaabout 2 inches below theouter ear/ Whay does the pain radiate to the ear and sometimes down the neck too?
