Suggest Treatment For Shingles

I just had shingles in the last week. It has crusted and is in the waning phase now, but my eardrums (both sides) feel like they are infected (as if I am underwater) with a slight amount of pain. Did the shingles cause this? Should I get some medicine to destroy the ear infection or will it go away on its own?
