Suggest Treatment For Shooting Pain In Left Shin And Lower Side

for a few months now I have had sharp all most unbearable shooting and sometimes constant pains in my left shin. Now the pain is in my lower left side. This occurs even when I am sitting still and at times will wake me at night. I just had an x-rays taken of the tibia, fibia and knee. Result said ostepenia which doesn't have any symptoms. It is obvious that something is going on. My Dr. doesn't want to do an MRI or any further testing. Wants to prescribe something for the pain.
