Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Cough

Hi! On Wed, I had a fever that got up to 102, a headache, sore throat and coughing. The headache and fever I was able to get rid of with TheraFlu Warming Relief Flu & Sore Throat. I went to the doctor Friday for sore throat and coughing. She said I had puss in the back of my throat. She gave me a lot of medicine (theraflu, theraflu packets, cough medicine, gargle with salt water, humidifier, advil and an antibiotic). I have been coughing up puss ever since. I noticed that the puss in the back of my throat has cleared up a lot. I am taking 3 different cough medications. But I still have a horrible cough. My voice sound like I swallowed gravel and sometimes I cough up a little blood. Should I go back to the doctor? Should I consider having my tonsils removed?
