Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat

I am 20 years old and a female. Two months ago I had a sore throat that feels like a sharp pain every time I swallow, and no medicine or throat lozenge helped. I was a little more tired than usual, but not enough to affect my daily routine. My throat hurt for three weeks and now the same sharp pain is back. I went to the hospital the first time, and got a strep test that came back negative. I did not go back to be tested for mono because I did not think I was tired enough. I would appreciate what your input is on a diagnosis and treatment, thank you.
