Suggest Treatment For Strep Throat Infection

I had a strep throat infection 2-1/2 weeks ago that caused my left ear to be plugged up. I went to a doctor In Florida a few days before I was to return home. He used a rather aggressive pulsating ear washer to wash out a large build up of ear wax. He then told me that the ear drum was not shaped properly and that I should hold my nose and put pressure on my ear several times a day to help restore the ear drum. Back at home I went to an ENT doctor. He asked me to wait a week to see if Mother Nature would take care of the problem. A week passed by and no change so the doctor made a cut in the ear drum to facilitate draining. A day and a half later I do not sense water in my ear, but I still cannot hear well with that ear. It sounds like a radio between stations and I am a little dizzy. What do you think? John
