My 94-year-old mother has had swelling in her ankles and feet for a couple of days, she says. Her meds are atenolol (50mg/l daily); probenecid-colchicne (l/daily); amlodipine besylate (10mg/l daily); simvastatin (20mg/l daily); potassium chloride (10MEQ CR/l daily); furosemide (20mg/l daily); prilosec OTC/l daily); aspirin (enteric/325mg/l daily). Both her regular doctor and her cardiologist have given her a clean bill of health; however, she hasn t been to see either one in quite some time, because she just doesn t want to go. What should I do? I do not want to send her to our local hospital; it is our roach hotel, without the roaches, if you get the drift.
