Suggest Treatment For Swollen Ear With Itching Inside

Is the mashtoid gland below the ear lobe, just behind the jaw? I have swelling in one ear, and after eating especially, there is intense itching/burning sensation in the area inside the ear, below it and beside it. Only the left ear and not the right ear.
