Suggest Treatment For Swollen Tonsils

I have had swollen tonsils for a month. Ten days ago my Dr. tested me for strep and the test came back as positive for strep A. I took penicillin two times a day for ten days. However my tonsils and glands in my throat are still swollen and still blowing and coughing up green mucus. What s going on?
