Suggest Treatment For Tendonitis In Wrist

I have tendonitis in the wrist, I saw the Doctor in October who said I could have and steroid injection, I did not want this, he also offered to get me physiotherapy, I had to turn that down, I am 79 disabled and need my Son to take me to appointments, his job does not allow for anything other than emergencies. My wrist and arm are still swollen and I wondered if I bought something like the ibaprofin might help?
