Suggest Treatment For The Removal Of Birth Mark

I have a very large (about 4 inches tall, 7 inches wide) oval shaped birthmark on my abdomen area that I have been trying to get removed. I was told lasesrs would not work because my skin is naturally tan colored (I'm half African American) any advice on a treatment that would work would be great. Thanks you.
