Suggest Treatment For Throat Infection And Heartburn

hi, i've been having problems with my throat lately. It has been at times hard to swallow. I've been to the doctors and have had medicine for allergies, heartburn, and something else but can't remember. Also, whenever i get a "good" cough where something actually comes out, it is a very thick mucus. I'm not sure if i have something stuck in my throat or if it's just a large collection of the mucus in my throat. Either i can get a Barium test or they can send a camera thing down my throat, what should i do?
