Suggest Treatment For Throat Infection

Good Morning. My wife has a throat infection and feels choked with cough while sleeping. Has temparature sometimes. She had been gargling with saline water and been doing steaming with plain water. She is 34 years old and had a C Section on the 13 of October 2010. Please advise.
