Suggest Treatment For Throat Infection
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to you as my boyfriend is very worried about what appears to be a mouth/throat infection of some kind. (He is in his twenties and perfectly healthy otherwise)
He was in a bar one night and only had one drink, however he cannot remember anything from that night. He thinks his drink was spiked as he didnt arrive home until early the next morning and had to show the taxi driver his licence in order to find the house. He couldnt even remember his address. This is totally out of character for him.
A few days after this, he got a very sore throat. It was extremely painful. He also noticed his tongue was white. He went to a doctor who looked at his tongue and said he didnt think it was an STI. He also looked at his penis (although it wasnt bothering my boyfriend)and said it appeared perfectly fine, no infections etc.
The sore throat cleared up but his tongue was still white so he decided to visit another doctor for a second opinion. This doctor tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia (swab test). He was told that if any of these showed up on the swab test the clinic would call him to let him know. He didnt get a call so he presumed the tests were negative.This doctor prescribed Doxylin 100mg tablets.
He has now finished the course of tablets. His tongue is still white and he has noticed little white lumps inside his bottom lip.
I would be so grateful if you could reply as soon as possible as we are both extremely worried about this. We are very worried that it may be some kind of sexually transmitted infection. My boyfriend is worried sick as all this (sore throat, white tongue) started AFTER the night in the bar. He said he would not be half as worried about it only that he cant remember ANYTHING at all from that night.
