Suggest Treatment For Throat Infection

Hi, I've had a sore throat and mild fever since early Saturday morning accompanied by a stuffy nose. The sore throat has gone through several phases. To begin with, my tonsils were swollen and painful on both sides, but it was worse on the left. Then it felt better on the left and was worse on the right. Starting Monday, the right side feels and looks fine, but the left side is still very swollen and tender, and the pain has been shooting up into my inner ear. I've had strep many times before, and it doesn't look like strep when I shine a flashlight into my throat. Right now I'm trying to decide whether seeing a doctor is worth it or if I should just wait it out.
