Suggest Treatment For Throat Irritation And Growth On Tonsil

I've had a very slight itch in the back of my throat to one side for a week or so. I've been meaning to look at it, but it hardly bothered me. I finally looked at it tonight and there is a solid white growth on my left tonsil - just one, about half the size of the dime. No other symptoms - no fever, no trouble swallowing, nothing else.
