Suggest Treatment For Throat Spasms

I have been having what appears to be throat spasms where I can't swallow. 3 1/2 years ago I had tongue cancer with a neck ressection. This has been happening for about 6 months and is happening more frequently. Oral Facial Surgeon is requesting that I see the ENT that assisted in tongue cancer surgery. The only relief I get is when I lift my head up and around...it only lasts for a few minutes but it is scaring me. I know this sounds stupid but I want to know what is causing this. I have read that maybe it is anxiety attacks but it can happen when I'm just sitting doing nothing. Can you help?
