Suggest Treatment For Tonsillitis

Hi I am a 20 year old female, I have suffered from tonsillitis consistently when I was younger, I still get it and strep throat very often, I have 3 lumps on the left side of my neck, I have gone to my doctor and been on bactrum and cefzil for the enlarged nodes on my neck, I just recently was on the cefzil for bronchitis after the Bactrim did not work, I now have very sore throat along the left side on my neck where the nodes are and left ear ache as well as phlegm. I am to go for a cat scan in 3 weeks but I cant keep waiting this long to figure out what exactly it is. Is it that I could need my tonsils out?
