Suggest Treatment For Tonsillitis

I'm having an acute attack of tonsillitis, and my throat has closed up to about the size of a straw. I'm scheduled for surgery next Thursday and I've been on antibiotics for three days. i cant break my fever, i keep bouncing from the high 103s to the low 102's. should i seek an emergency tonsillectomy?
