Suggest Treatment For Torn Miniscis On Knee

I am an 85 year old male who has a knee problem.My doctor tells me that I have a torn miniscis on my left knee an wants to do a partical knee replacement,says that the left side of the knee is in good shape and dose not need to have any work done. The miniscis is totally gone. What do you think?????
