Suggest Treatment For Urinary Incontinence

Hi, I have been diagnosed with urinary incontinence. GP did a pelvic examination soon after I was asked to fill up a container with my urine for bacteria tests. It means my bladder was totally empty for the pelvic examination. I have been asked to cough and she did not notice any significant leaks. is it right to take the examination on empty bladder or I should be examine with a full bladder.
