Suggest Treatment Needed After Toenail Is Ripped Off Exposing Skin Underneath

Hello there, I could use some help...I seem to have ripped off my little toenail completely, and it was bleeding quite badly, until it stopped. I feel no pain from it, but I can see underneath the skin where my toenail should be lodged. Is this serious, and what can I do?
