Suggest Treatment To Control Laryngospasm

how can I control laryngospasm or tracheal spasm I've had it on and off for a couple of days since I started with this cold I do have some codeine cough medicine in the house but not much. it is really uncomfortable and happens when I try to breathe deeply or cough not that I have to try to cough. is there anything simple that will work?
