Suggest Treatment To Reduce Hypertrophic Scars On The Arms

I am 22 years old and I used to issues with self-harm. I have stopped cutting but now I have hypertrophic scars on my arms as a result. I am too embarrassed to see a dermatologist and I was wondering if there are treatments that I could buy that would be effective? I have tried silicone sheets but haven't observed any results.
