Suggest Ways To Stop A Child From Holding Back Bowel Movements For Days

My 10 yr old granddaughter holds her bowel movements for days at a time and when she finally goes, well, I don t understand how she could possibly pass what she does. She often blocks up the toilet. My concern is what causes a child to do that and how can it be fixed.
